Charles Brothers Trio

865a1.jpg

Pictured, Charles Brothers Trio, from left to right: Ben, John and Fred, recorded two albums, and were guest artists on the Brooks Oregon Family Camp Meeting record produced in 1960.

In the 1980’s all these original recordings were combined, digitally re-mastered, and produced as an audio tape album. In 2005 another digital re-master was professionally produced, and is available in CD format.

This CD is the only authentic professionally re-mastered version in existance that contains all the original tracks of music that the Charles Brothers Trio ever professionally recorded. This 15 track CD is a collectors item.

  1. Hi
My name is Roderick Beaton, son of Bill and Marian Beaton. We attended a small church in Victoria BC called “Faith Temple”, and I believe that when the Charles Brothers visited us ( I was about 5) it would have been in the old Synogogue. Anyhow, that church was quite active in what I remember as “Indian Conventions” that took place on the Island and in the Puget Sound area. We have a red vinyl record (now with a big crack in it), and as a child I learned every song on that record by heart. As a teen, I took the time to write them down, and sang them frequently. They were always a blessing.
One time later when living in the north of the province, I sang “Wicked Heart” at a small church in Kispoix. The pastor, “BIg Paul” Starlund was gobsmacked as he had only heard that song sung before by Johnny Charles in his church in Seattle if I remember correctly. So I got John’s phone number and gave him a ring, and got to chat with him a bit and tell him how much the ministry of that old record has meant to many people.
Time has passed and a few years back I did an internet search for Charles Brothers, Big Chief Records and came up empty. Also searched for credits for many of the songs, and found only a few, so I recorded the old scratchy record, wrote out the words, and added chords for some, and added some bio info for some of the songs. I did not want anything from this record to be lost.
I am overjoyed to see you have developed this tribute, and want to offer you a couple things; One, to remove my content if it is your wish, and two, to offer you anything that I have posted for your use if you desire.
I don’t want to post the location here for general broadcast, but if family gets in touch, I would be most pleased to do your bidding
    God Bless
    -roderick (ian) beaton
